Course description:
"Come and celebrate Summer with a course of beautiful pottery hand coiled honey pots, leaf embossed  slab built vases, decorated nature tiles, bird/lovely bug sculptures and glazing techniques. Suitable for all abilities."

PLEASE NOTE: My course of pottery sessions are for adults and children. Children aged 15 and under cannot attend alone. Thanks.

About Samantha:

"Samantha Krankpod is a ceramic artist and Staffordshire University graduate, specialising in handmade ceramics. She has 15 years experience as a creative facilitator working with children, adults and families."

I started exploring art and design at Bournville School of Art. I specialised in pottery because it was excitingly unpredictable. I was facinated by the way the raw material could be infinitely manipulated and transformed into something amazing.

I handmake embossed bowls, tiles and jewellery using terracotta clay and rich earthenware glazes. My work is very tactile and is nature inspired with reference to pods, seeds, leaves, flowers and birds.

One of my favourite ceramic artists is Magdalene Odundo. She hand coils pots to perfection and makes pieces you instinctively want to touch.

we tidy up. come and collect your things until feb 24th!

Dear all,

Sundragon have been having a clear out!

If you did a course with us at St Paul's, or with Austin Gannon at The Old Print Works, or in The Sundragon Studio itself ... in the last three years, AND if you know your work was glazed, it is available to collect, NOW!!  It is in the Reception/Drawing room at the Old Print Works.

Please come anytime to collect it ... ring any bell. and if you'd like to leave a small donation to the upkeep of The Old Print Works, there is a donations bucket beside the pottery items.

If you can't find your work, then please come to the studio and make some more, as everything left behind is now out for collection in the reception/drawing room! :)

Any work left there after the 24th February will be disposed of.

Thank you for you ongoing support and please share so that everyone gets the message.

Many many thanks,

becky sundragon

Introducing our Potters: Amanda Cairney

I fell in love with clay after joining a local pottery group about 15 years ago, I loved it as soon as I touch it, the possibilities of what you can make are endless. Wanting to learn more I studied for my degree in ceramics at Glasgow school of art and after graduation I set up my own studio at my then home in Yorkshire. After moving to Birmingham I joined the fabulous group at Sundragon Pottery and have potted there very happily ever since.
