Someone made a huge sink in the pottery. Alternatively it can be used as a flowerpot.

A Spell to Conjure Violets

A Spell to Conjure Violets is a book by Birmingham based writer Kate Mascarenhas.

1975. Wendy, a fourteen year old orphan, is found trapped in a hollow statue on the grounds of a country estate. She says she was abducted and left for dead by a careworker. But Wendy’s rescuer, a poet named Herrick, secretly suspects she’s a folkloric deity from another world. His conviction has life long consequences for Wendy – and for her children…

A speculative novel about guilt, misuses of power, and healing.

Picture and information taken from the Rose Curve Press website where you can purchase this book. It is self-bound too which is nice.

Introducing Ian :)

"I started making pottery at school-failed at O level-carried on regardless-started doing Adult Education classes-bought a kick wheel in my teens and used to throw at home and take my dried out work back to the class for firing.
I then moved around ,always finding drop in centres or Adult Ed in Lancaster, London or Birmingham when I returned home. I used to have a studio pass at the Mac before it was renovated and now have finally found my 'spiritual home' at Sundragon where I can happily throw into the early hours of the morning and mix with a wonderful selection of down to earth people sharing a love of clay!"

here are some photos of Ian's first batch:

In March a straycat found her way to us. She's still here, initially called Daisy, then Bunny and luckily she's doing well and seems to be much healthier.
